About Skimboarding Skimboarding is an emerging sport similar to surfing. The sport is currently undergoing rapid growth on all fronts. Advertising on Skim Online is an excellent, low cost opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this exciting sport. What We Are Offering Skim Online is currently offering site wide CPM (impression based) banner advertising (impression = banner view). All banners are above the scroll and there is only one banner on each page. Banners are rotated throughout the site so that your banner does not appear to the same user repeatedly. If you would like your banner to appear on a specific page of the site every time the page is viewed, that can also be arranged. Banners must be the standard 468 x 60 pixel size in gif or jpg format. Rates range from $5.00 to $10.00 for every thousand impressions (banner views). Compared with CPM's of up to $50.00 for other specialty sites, this rate is a real value. The exact rate will depend on how targeted Skim Online's traffic is to your site. How Does It Work? Once a rate is determined a campaign will be set up. The campaign will be for a set number of total impressions for the campaign (i.e. 50,000 impressions) and an a approximate saturation level. The saturation level is the percentage of pages you would like to have your banner on. For instance a saturation level of 20% would mean that every time a page is loaded there is a 20% chance that your banner will be shown. Banners are served by a third party company and and a URL will be provided for each campaign which will tell you how many impressions have been served and how many click-through's the banner has received.
