Foam Board Manufacturers Victoria - The oldest skimboard manufacturer. Victoria Skimboards has been around for a long time and has pioneered many major developments in skimboard manufacturing. Victoria skims tend to be medium weight. They have an average amount of rocker. (Victoria also has an Australian operation) ZAP Skimboards - ZAP Skimboards offers a huge selection of boards. Their boards are very popular on the east coast. They are heavier than other comparable brands (Victoria, Slotstik) but are also cheaper. They are popular mainly with intermediate level skimboarders who want to save a little cash. They recently came out with a new "Kronic" model that is aimed at advanced riders. Slotstik - Slotstik Skimboards are very popular among many of the top riders and throughout Southern California and the east coast. These boards tend to have a very flat planing surface. Oxnard, CA 93033 Riptide - Based out of Santa Cruz California. Riptide Skimboards have been very popular in Northern California but not so popular in Southern California. In my experience the boards have been a bit heavy but indestructible. Production of these boards has been scaled back. Pete still makes boards but only does custom orders, there is no inventory to speak of. Call them direct to order a custom board. Riptide's Phone Number is: 831-724-5660 Maui Skimmers - Maui skimmers makes boards that are shaped like small surfboards rather than using traditional skimboard shapes. The result is boards that turn on a dime. Unfortunately there is a big trade off for this turning ability. They are not nearly as fast as traditional shaped boards and their length (they can be very long) can sometimes be problematic when riding smaller waves. Shockwave Skimboards - French manufacturer. The boards I have seen look pretty good. Very similar to Victoria's boards. Web page is in French. Folha Skimboards - The board of choice in Portugal. I have only ridden one of these boards. The one I rode seemed a little on the heavy side, but not extraordinarily heavy. The shape was very similar to a Victoria. I can't say if they are durable or not because I don't have very much experience with them. Page is in Portuguese. Eden Skimboards - French skimboard manufacturer. Boards are similar to Victoria's. The Wave Zone - The Wave Zone is a foam skimboard manufacturer out of FL that produces a full line of boards. Zed Skimboards - Canadian board manufacturer. Kilauea Skimboards - Brazillian manufacturer of skimboards. SHHH Skimboards - A Dutch skimboard manufacturer. Wood Board Manufacturers Victoria Skimboards - Probably makes more wood skimboards than anyone. (Victoria Australia) Nemo SandSkates - Some nice looking boards (and site!) out of Australia. J-Gordon Skimboards - One of the original wood board manufactures, now based out of Oregon. Four Skims - Wood skimboard manufacturer out of British Columbia. Backwash Skimboards - Wood skimboard manufacturer from Vancouver. Jambowaves - Wood board manufacturer for the east coast and Nova Scotia Woody Skimmers - A new wood board manufacturer. They have a new site. Mandala Skimboards - Italian manufacturer. Plywood Skimboards - Dutch Manufacturer Outbreak Skimboards - Vancouver Island manufacturer.
