Picture Set #2
This was one of Bill Bryans first waves of the day. He looked like he
wasn't too interested. I thought he might fall asleep after he landed
180 and spun it around 360 back onto the sand. Cool contrast with Aliso
pier too!
This shot is taken from Chia's next wave after the one on top of the
skim homepage. The only reason I didn't drop the camera right there was
because my back was hurting so bad I couldn't sit or stand. So instead I
ran two batteries dry.
Drew Liddle is one of the coolest people you might run across if you
ever decide to visit Aliso. He doesn't hang there as much as he used
to... only when its good, as you may be able to see.
I don't even know Gino's last name but he's a pretty cool guy. Just
recently though, when I was a kid he always used to pick on me and
Chia... in fact, he still picks on Chia. That's OK though Gino, we wont
hold it against you.
Chia is always picking sand out of his ears and draining water out of
his nose... I wonder why?
Here is Billy doing something strange. How did he get there you ask?
Well he was riding a sider, he got way out in front of it and then cut
back and launched off the sider he was riding just a second before. Does
he land it? No, he try's to land it backwards but the wave pitches due
to backwash and he pearls. Its kind of trippy how I ask myself questions
like that... I haven't skimmed in weeks, finals suck.
This day was so shitty but we skimmed for what seemed like forever. Its
just another testament to how bad the summer of 95' was
This was another one of those shitty days. Chia found a nice liner
though. He rode this one for twenty feet!
This was two waves before the wave at the top of the skim homepage.
Life's rough, eh' Chia???
This was my roommate Will's SECOND WAVE EVER! He's been 'skimming' for
over a year now and usually he just falls. We've got some really good
wipeout footage of Will. He just figured out how to go under waves a
couple of months ago, before that he would just stand there and get
pummeled. He's from New York so when I took him skimming for the first
time he tried to skim with the board backwards. I let him try that for
about fifteen minutes until I finally told him he was holding the board
backwards. I'm not too cruel though, I told him how to go under a wave
the first day, its not my fault he doesn't listen...
