| There was a skim fest in 1989 when Bill Bryan first competed against
established Laguna crew. He won the contest in some of the best
contest conditions ever. Everyone knew how talented he was but
were still amazed that this kid (about 16) was able to win his first
"pro" event. It was particularly fitting that this
picture of him was on the contest shirt.
