Picture Set #3
Conely Ware has been skimming since the 60's. Here he is powering
through a section at Aliso this summer.
Here is George skimming Aliso last fall. The day before this was really
good. Unfortunately George and his brother Bill missed it. This day
sucked but George was able to find something worth riding... Check out
the size of his GOAT!
This is more like it. This is what the waves were like the day before.
Gnu is really hard to see in this picture but he is definitely charging.
This was an exceptionally long barrel ride and he is at the end of it in
this picture. He isn't slowing down though.
This photo does not do justice to how high Chia is in this picture. The
angle sucks. I saw this flip from the side and I think it has to be the
second highest flip I've ever seen. Actually it might have been as high
as the flip I saw Conely do, but Conely did three flips so I guess he
can take the prize... This is on the way down. This is also the same
epic day as above.
Here
is a shot of Chia and I charging a nice one. I'm the one in the barrel
and Chia is the one going soft on the shoulder. Just kidding, Chia
actually got a better ride. I guess sometimes it pays off when you go
for the shoulder instead of the peak... hahahaha.
This was the first and last wave I videoed on the same day as the last
few shots. I came up to the beach and decided I would video for a while
before I started skimming. Then I saw this wave! Needless to say it
didn't take me long to get in the water. Oh yeah, this picture is of
Gnu, one of the most underrated skimmers around.
And here is what happened when I got in the water, stoked. Needless to
say, I had pretty high expectations for the next day. Unfortunately, it
sucked. This was a one day thing.
OK, so your getting sick of pictures from the same day? Last one, I
promise. I wasn't going to make this a series but I figured that no one
would think that he made it. He did.
Aaron Peluso - hey wait a minute... that's me!
Chia here.
