Zap East Coast Tour Details Announced

This year will be the second time that Zap Skimboards hosts an East Coast Pro/Am tour.  Last year the pro purse of $2000 dollars was won by none other than Bill Bryan for successfully accumulating more points than any other rider (closely followed by Brad Evers).  Points are accumulated in the same way as the United Skim Tour except that only major East Coast contests count.

This year there will be five participating contests:

• Dewey Beach, DE
• Panama City Beach, FL
• Cocoa Beach, FL
• Kill Devil Hills, NC
• Charlestown, Rhode Island

Unlike last year however only the best 3 out of 5 contests will count.  This is intended to allow riders to miss a contest (or two) and still be in the running.  Of course, it also allows the possibility of a tie using the best three out of five method, in which case the fourth and possibly fifth best contest results will be used.  This encourages riders to attend every contest possible.

This tour is not just for the pros either.  Amateur division titles are also awarded for each age group.  Awards remain unspecified for the time being, however more information is sure to be announced as the contests approach.
