Qualifying Events?
August 25, 2003

Given the incredible turnout that the Victoria World Championships and the East Coast Championships have been experiencing, it was only a matter of time before restrictions were placed on entries.  Word on the street is that this time has arrived.

Next year, these two events are scheduled to have restricted entry based on past performance.

For the Aliso contest the entry will be based on results from Santa Cruz and Ventura (this year) as well as a qualifying event in Laguna before the main event.

Qualifying for the East Coast Championships will almost certainly require performance in other East Coast Tour events.

Prior performance in the events themselves will also likely count.  Additionally, there may be some special consideration given to competitors traveling from the other side of the country.

Truthfully, it is not all worked out yet.  But west coast AM's would be wise to attend the upcoming Ventura and Santa Cruz events if they want to guarantee a spot in next years World Championships.

Stay tuned as details unfold.
