The UK skim fest is an informal gathering of skimboarders, who meet up to skim, and have some fun on the beach, and generally improve their skimboarding through interaction with other skimmers. No competitions or contests - just a relaxed atmosphere for everybody to enjoy the sport of skimboarding.

Zap Skimboards have renewed their title sponsorship of the event for 2003 and have confirmed that Drew Danielo will be back for some British skim flavour. Bill Baxter is also expected to return for the now annual event. Also supporting this years event is Slick Industries who should keep everyone up to speed with their great wax.

This year the prize draw will raise money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)

They provide search and rescue for the coastline of the UK and they also supply the beach rescue services over the Skim Fest weekend. Sandskater, Zap Skimboards and Slick Industries have kindly donated prizes for the draw.

Skimboarding has seen a huge increase in popularity in the UK this summer, so the event is expected to pull together the largest number of skimmers ever seen in the UK. To keep all the skimmers fuelled for the weekend, there is a bar and takeaway just above the beach.
