Greenfield Park

This is about as good as it gets in Arizona and especially in Mesa.  All the spot consists of is a relatively flat retention basin.  The high point is that it is often flooded, even in the summer.  Basically you take what you get here.  I'm often there and we sometimes bring a grindrail (pretty fun)

Its not to hard to find.  If you are living out side of mesa take the I'60 (freeway) east until you come to the Greenfield exit.  Take a left at the first stop light.  Continue until you see a park (big green hole).  Pull across the traffic into a little one or two car lot.  (if you don't live in mesa its not worth the drive)

Shea Wash, Scottsdale

Another water retention area in Arizona.  Nice grass and hard dirt.  About 200 yards long.  After a good rain there is some great skimming.  Connects two golf courses (also good for skimming).

Come up to the Tatum and Shea intersection and head east until you come to a bridge overlooking a big grass field.  If you need more specific directions feel free to e-mail me.

Bartlett Lake (Rattlesnake cove)

It's a small beach, used as a Rec area. Not too many rocks in the water and a pretty nice sandy beach to play around on. Obviously not like riding the Ocean, but you go on a Weekend when all the Ski boats and other gapers are out on the Lake screaming around making waves. Because of where it is, there's almost a constant flow of Wake hitting shore from all the ski traffic. I leave the beach at a 45deg angle from Left to right because of the way the wakes come into the little cove. (For a desert lake) It's pretty fun to slice the little incoming wake and you can make balls-out runs for like 40-50 feet when u find the sweet spot. There’s even a little gap to your far left if you have a fast board and feet you might be able to make it, but it'd be big.

30 minutes North of Phx/Mesa at Bartlett Lake. One of the first few Beaches on the Lake is Rattlesnake cove; it's a rec. area with a sandy beach and usually not too many people. Even if there are people there, they stay out of your way when they see you start skimming. The best place I’ve found in this shit-hot desert...
