Connecticut Walnut Beach, Milford Awesome place for boarding! Tons of sand bars at low tide with plenty of tide pools to tear up. The waves are perfect for beginners. And the best part is you'll be the only one doing it, and will have everyone asking you what the hell you are doing. Because no one around this area knows what skimboarding is. In the Devon costal area of Milford, CT. Just get off of Exit 34 of I-95 and take a right, then take a left onto Naugatuck Ave, and follow till you see the water! Enjoy! West Haven Beach Small waves but tons of huge tide pools and long
sandbars at low tide.No crowds or people standing in your way. Go on I-95 North.Turn into downtown West Haven on exit 43.Turn right on to Campbell Ave.(*)and follow it down and turn right on to Captin Thomas Blvd.Follow it down onto Ocean Ave and keep going till you see a pond/lake on the right. The good beach is on the left side of the long rock jetty. You can park on the street behind the lake/pond. Submitted By: mclane5@erols.com Compo Beach, Westford Connecticut Compo is a great place for people who are just
starting out. There are a lot of great sand bars (at low tide). Also if
you go to the beach right after a storm or right before a storm there
are waves about 1.5 feet to 2 feet. There is also a sand bar in the
middle of the bay that is not that far away from the beach that is
really good, because the waves come right over the top and there are not
rocks at all. The only problem is that you have to swim or take a boat
there. There aren’t a lot of people at the beach, and no one is
skimming boarding. And there is no one at the sand bar because it’s in
the middle of the bay. Submitted By: Snoboardinbum@yahoo.com Seaview Beach or "the spot" This is a private beach, so it is not crowed and as long as you
respect the people’s property they don’t seem to mind you there.
It’s our favorite place to board, good waves some times, and at low
tide we have a lot or good areas for sand surfing Get of ex 62, go down the Hammonasett connector. Take a right at the light, follow Boston post road until the first traffic light, take a left at the light and follow road to beach Submitted By: rustycoconuts@aol.com
White Sands Beach Even though this beach is private, you still could rip there. Before Memorial Day or after Labor Day is probably the best, because the life guards aren't there and aren't on your ass for skimming. But if you go during the summer they check for beach parking permits, so you better watch out. Here like at any Connecticut beach you go to , the surf isn't all that great, and waves average 6 inches to a foot. But if you skim here in early May, or early September the waves get fairly decent and you could catch some air. But don't get me wrong, anytime during the summer is great, besides the fact of those asshole lifeguards and the number of little kids getting in your way when your trying to rip a sick line. From Hartford take 91 South to Route 9 South all the way down to 95 North, over Balldwin Bridge take first exit to Old Lyme,CT.Apx. 4 miles on right hand side, look for signs.
