Dewey Beach

Fenwick Island

This spot has waves at least 3-5 feet.  The best time to go is around when it starts to get dark or when the sun is going down.  It is best to go during the middle of the summer because that is when the waves are pretty large.   Also, the waves break early so you can hit them good.

Fenwick island is near Ocean City, Maryland. There is a sign that tells you that you have entered Fenwick Island.  It is very easy to see

More On Fenwick Island

Fenwick is one of the best spots I have seen when it is on.this spot has a steep beach with no sandbar to stop the swell. swell size waist to chest sometimes even better in perfect situations, light west wind is best. high tide is best time to catch it. this break works all year long.  The only problem I have found is fishermen you might have to walk to get away from the lines.

You will find this spot heading north as soon as you pass the town of Fenwick island you will see a parking lot just pull in and walk north past the lifeguards

Gordon's Pond, Rehoboth

This place is pretty good hardly any crowds and the lifeguards dont care if u skim or not.  The waves break 5-15 ft out at high tide.  Dont go at low tide it sux.  The best place is right at the jetty. best in the fall and summer.

Go to Rehoboth beach and turn left.Follow the signs to gordons pond pay the petty toll and go skim.

Bethany Beach, Delaware

Bethany Beach is south of Dewey and is almost as good for skimming. It is best at high tide. The waves are usually around 2-4 feet and about 5-15 feet out. The best place to go is right off the boardwalk by the jetty after the lifeguards leave (5 PM).

Head South from Dewey and follow the signs to the boardwalk then find a spot put money in the meter and skim.

Herring Point

This place isn’t the best for skimming but it works...there’s a lot of fisherman but they can be avoided I really don’t know the best tides there, but usually the waves are 2-3 feet high and breaking in pretty far so its pretty good for wave riding...and to the left of that there will be a jetty and if you go to the other side of that its great for sand surfing.

When you get into the park you go through the check point part and you take a right and then a left and drive farther down and you will see a road going uphill leading to a parking lot and from there it’s a kinda long walk down the stairs, but enjoy.
