The best skim break is usually at the end of the beach near the towers, though this is fairly inconsistent. It does tend to move around a bit. If the surf has been really good, it usually beats the shit out of the beach, and trashes it for skimming. If the surf blows, the skimming is usually good. Unless you're ridiculously hard core, don't skim except between labor day and mid September. Other than that, it's stupid cold. It usually breaks best when the tide's about 1/3 low and rising.

Take Rt. 95 to Rt. 4 south. Follow signs to Narragansett. Drive along Ocean Drive until you see the big coast guard towers which arch over the road. The beach in front of you is the one you want.
