Puerto Rico ToconesOcean Park - Condado Hi, my name is Janson "jay jay" Colberg from Puerto Rico, and I think I can supply the page with some useful info about the island. I've been surfing my whole life and skimboarding for about a year now. (I just think it' s that skimboarding is an awesome sport and it ha helped my performance in surfing in an incredible way and vise versa; so to any surfer out there you should really do this and take my word for it.) since I started I've pretty much concentrated on skimming on the north shore of the island since it is the most consistent in swells, and to the date after trying a several number of spots I still think that the best two places to skim in the north shore are ocean park (Condado beach) as well as Tocones (the spot in your page). both places fall almost under the same description but I would still prefer Ocean Park over Tocones for various reasons. for once Ocean Park is in Condado which is practically in the city so if your staying in a hotel near by you might as well walk to the beach so you'll have no problem what so ever about parking your car. the spot in general is pretty good it has a good slope in the sand for extra speed (it varies with the swell and the tides), on big swells it has a very good side wash, and even though it is pretty consistent the best season is from October through end of April (May if lucky). if you get it on a very good swell you'll feel like you' re in heaven considering that the skimming population in Puerto Rico is almost none. I hope this info can help you in any way, keep supporting the sport... Hi my name is Angel Rivera from Guaynabo, Puerto
Rico. I represent one of the few skimboard riders in Puerto Rico and it
is a pleasure to write about our island and the great spots we have here
with great riders. The spot is sheraton beach and the spot is great for
skimboarding. It is a shorebreak and it breaks all year round. It doesnt
have that much of a crowd and its a good break for launching good airs
and all great skimboarding manuvuers. Not too many people skimboard
there so its great for riding the wave on a good day where the
shorebreak is huge and lots of ramps to launch huge airs.
