 Aegis Skim Online Rating: ? Aegis is SkimOnline's first video. Some have called it the best video ever. Some haven't. I am content just saying it is a solid video. I am not quite pompous enough to do a review of my own flick so I will just say the following and then post what others have said about the video. It includes more locations and riders than your average skim video with footage from as far away as France. The unprecedented use of a water camera at spots like the wedge provides for some really great shots that everyone should see. READ A FULL REVIEW AT GoSkim.com VIEWER COMMENTARY Aegis freakin' ROCKS! By far a 10 on my scale better than any skim video I have ever seen and well worth my friends 25 bucks that he paid for me to watch it at his house. Thank you for the 45 minutes of bliss. I loved the intro that was awesome. I hope to see another video from the skimonline family. - Steve This is the best skim video ever made. Honestly the intro itself is better than any video ever. I recommend everyone goes out and buys it. Some really sweet filming angles and just a ton of good footage. No B.S. Just great all around. The vid rocks and is definitely worth the money! the wipe-out section is epic, I think its the best of any skim vid (I don't know if that's good or not though! just kidding ) but as far as a skim video goes, buy this. - Rob I must say that the video is great. Very very well done. Awesome job all around. The opening segment is beautiful. - Cody What is Aegis anyway? With the extra shots at the end the video is actually over 50 mins. An awesome video, great slow-mo shots to study how the pros get it done. Killer, sick ... enjoyed the France segment. You guys filmed some sick sessions to get this video made. THANK YOU. - Peter I really enjoyed the film, I just really wanted to point out the things I thought were wrong. It's only constructive criticism. The beginning was sorta weak. The music was slow and it really killed the effect. The super quick focusing and zoom used not only hurt my eyes, but took away the flow that most videos have. So all in all, it lacked energy. As for the skimming footage, it was good in some cases but not in others. For example, Grady Archbold segment really didn't capture all he is capable of but ones like Ben Kotin’s were sick. Overall, I have to say that I liked Vortex Children was better, but the ending for aegis was probably the best skimming segment out of all the videos I've seen. The music was great, the footage was great, and it really packed energy. Plus, that little girl was hilarious. - John First impression: I want to go to France and skim
that right liner! It is not fair to compare Aegis with the latest 10th
Bros videos simply because they have produced several videos, each being
better than its' predecessor, while Aegis is Skimonline's first effort.
That said, Aegis defintely is good enough to be favorably compared to
the Bryan's latest efforts. Skimonline obviously listened to
comments made about previous skim videos and has incorporated
suggestions into this video with great results. Aegis is a solid video from start to finish and it
gets better the more you watch it. It has the skim staples (Geo,
Bill, Mez, EC, Evers, etc), some pros who don't usually get a lot of
footage in other vids (Aaron & Chia, Priettos) along with up and
coming skimmers as well as several skim breaks unseen on video until
now. Music is good too. Another plus is the length of the video and the
lack of crossover sports. Not that crossover is bad it's just that
some other vids have too much crossover for my taste...I find myself
using the fast forward too much. Not necessary here as this vid is
98% skim. 45 minutes is a lot of skimming. And the footage
is quality. Highlights: Lots, too much to mention but the big
Aliso day(s) that Aaron documented in a pic set were awesome to see on
vid. Wipeout section, France segment, psychotic girl screaming
(reminded me of a scarier Blair Witch) and seeing Aaron actually do a
shuvit (watch out Brad Evers lol) along with good Chia footage and just
all the different breaks. Lowlights: Aaron beating meat with a bat; puke
skimming; catching Geo in mid bite of ribs (lol!) Is it the best skim video? I don't know, it
depends on your taste. But if I were stuck on a desert island with
just two videos (and a vcr, tv and electricity!)
Aegis would be one of the videos. The other would be either
Vortex Children or one of Jenna Jaimeson's finer works. So buy Aegis, you won't be sorry. Ebert can
make a film after all. PS: Dustin Boone filmed 3 of the clips (the two
Potter shots and one near the end) but was not listed in the video
credits (unintentional I'm sure). Just wanted to make sure Dustin
